KIELBASA AND CABBAGE

(POLISH SUMMER HUNTER’S STEW)

Kielbasa and Cabbage come together to form a perfect Polish summer hunter's stew. It's made from young cabbage, that is at its peak at the begging of the summer, with the addition of smoky Polish sausage and fragrant dill. It makes for a delicious European treat.

Ingredients

Carrot | Cabbage | Onion Kielbasa | Olive Oil | Tomato Paste | Dill | Caraway Seeds Bay Leaf | Flour | Vegetable Broth

 In a large braising pan or cast iron skillet, add olive oil and chopped onion. Cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent.

Add shredded carrot, cabbage, broth, tomato paste, caraway seeds & bay leaves. Mix, cover and cook for about 20 min.  Check if the cabbage is soft. If not, cook for a little longer. Season with salt and pepper.

Cook kielbasa on each side until golden brown Mix with the cabbage.  In a separate pan make a white sauce with the flour, oil & cabbage broth. Add to the cabbage pot  Cook for 2-3 min.

Add dill and serve.
