This Potato Leek Casserole is full of flavor with garlic, cream, Gruyere cheese, and thyme. It's rich, decadent and elegant at the same time. It can be served as a perfect side dish for any Holidays or other gatherings.
Potatoes | Leeks | Garlic Butter | Gruyere Cheese Heavy Cream | Thyme Salt & Pepper
Trim and cut the leeks into half inches squares. Place them in a bowl of water to remove all the sand. Place on a paper towel to remove extra water.
Sauté leeks until soft. Add cream, salt and pepper. Cook until it thickens slightly, set aside. Slice the potatoes then rub garlic all over the casserole dish and smear with butter.
Layer potatoes, cream-leek mixture, salt, pepper, cheese and thyme. Repeat with two more layers using remaining cheese on top.
Cover and bake for about 40 min. Uncover and bake until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
